India was the partner country at Ambiente at Messe Frankfurt in 2019. The concept for the India pavilions was “Hand Make in India.” Curated by Ayush Kasliwal, Hand Make in India was an invitation to designers, companies, and organizations from around the world to come to India and collaborate with its rich craft base — the largest pool of skilled craftspeople in the world. This enables production at scales not typically associated with handicrafts.
Created by Ishan Khosla Design LLP, a Delhi-based design studio, the identity is intended to surprise and provoke interest in the versatility and remarkable diversity of Indian handmade goods.
As India was the partner country at Ambiente 2019, more spaces were allocated to the country to showcase its handmade good.
