Narendra Bhawan Bikaner

Set in an urban landscape, Narendra Bhawan is an illustrious historic residence that has morphed into an independent design hotel. Extending the lineage of Suryagarh, Jaisalmer, Narendra Bhawan Bikaner tells the story of the last reigning Maharaja of Bikaner, His Highness Narendra Singhji.

Designed as a grand residence distinguished by its character, the hotel's interiors are a landscape of memories where wisdom and wonder interweave. Rich, diverse, and a tribute to its former denizen - the connoisseur Maharaja - the bespoke interiors, open spaces, convivial areas, and dining spaces are intended to delight and stimulate guests with a sentimentality that is familiar yet fast dissipating.

Residence Rooms

Comfortably appointed, the Residence Rooms are a tribute to the eclectic tastes of the household. Elaborate ceiling details, Bikaner terrazzo doors and traditional crafts sit in harmony with Portuguese tiles and a distinctly English colour palette. Light and fresh, these rooms are a calm sanctuary set apart from the hyperactivity of the city that surrounds.

Prince Rooms

Designed by the young prince as his personal quarters, this set of rooms reflects a growing predisposition toward a Western lifestyle. Featuring luxe velvets, English prints, glittering mirrors, and mosaics, the Prince Rooms showcase youthful exuberance in entirely glamorous living quarters.

Regimental Rooms

The Regimental Room is grand. It reflects a ceremonial order that appealed to the military man who was also King. Elements of army regalia are thoughtfully interspersed with modern conveniences, adding uniformity and symmetry. These rooms are sensitively curated with objects and artwork that enhance the martial King's varied interests. A rich color palette adds vibrancy and immediate comfort to these stately rooms.

India Rooms

The India Rooms are unwaveringly Indian, yet fashioned for the cosmopolitan traveler. Here, strokes of pastoral India sit comfortably alongside the robust modernity of contemporary India. Curated primarily in indigo—the symbolic color of India—these rooms are a cocoon where comfort and contentment are accentuated.

Republic Suite

Quite apart from the themes found in our other guest rooms, the Republic Suite is a dramatic suite where strong, confident lines and a color palette of steely blue and concrete grey suggest a very contemporary conclusion. Chic to the core, this is an "architect's room"—inspired by an era when the great architects of India, stalwarts in the public imagination, created spaces that were startlingly new.

Verandah

An indoor-outdoor lounge area, the Verandah suggests a mood of effortlessness and relaxation in an eclectic setting. The adornment is strongly influenced by the Bombay Art Deco movement, where motifs and design elements present an interior reminiscent of a vibrant bygone age. Modern Indian furniture, Portuguese tiles, and tribal artworks add vibrancy to the décor.

The relaxed charm of this space serves as a library, where the specially curated Penguin Classics collection adds singular enchantment for any curious mind. An electric-red baby grand piano - our ‘Edith’ - sits at one end, heightening all that this space represents.

Diwali Chowk

The Diwali Chowk is the central courtyard at the heart of Narendra Bhawan Bikaner. Dotted with canopies, fruit trees, and low Indian-style seating, it is the ideal place to experience the Bikaner Badakhana and savour Marwari cuisine with the pomp and circumstance emblematic of royal Bikaner.
